Thinsulate™ 75 Climate Control Window Film — New from 3M™!

3M continues its technological superiority with the introduction of the new Climate Control Window Film — Thinsulate™ 75. Virtually invisible, the look of your windows barely changes, inside or out. And it still helps protect furniture, floors, upholstery and artwork from UV rays that cause fading.
.

What is Thinsulate™?

Thinsulate™ is a well-known 3M brand that stands for comfort, warmth and quality. The Thinsulate™ brand has been in existence for almost 50 years. Many of the products under this brand are jackets, hats, gloves, shoes and bedding with Thinsulate™ being the key warming/insulation component. And now, Thinsulate™ products include Low-E window film.
.

What is Low-E and How Does it Work?

Low-E is short for Low Emissivity. Products that have Low-E properties such as Thinsulate™ 75 Window Film are designed to REFLECT radiant heat or cooling, rather than allowing the glass to absorb it. In other words, during the cold winter months and hot summer days, Thinsulate™ 75 Climate Control Window Film will reflect the radiant heat or cooling back into the room – instead of being absorbed into the glass. With 30% percent of all energy used to heat and cool your home literally “going out the window,” 3M Thinsulate™ 75 is an excellent solution to this problem, both in winter and summer!
.

How is Thinsulate™ 75 Different from Sun Control Films?

While Thinsulate™ 75 has properties similar to sun control films that allow it to reduce heat entering your home through your windows during the summer months, the film is specially designed to help prevent the transfer of radiant heat from one side of the glass to the other. Therefore, the Low-E properties of Thinsulate™ 75 help keep warm air inside during the winter months, and keep warm air outside during summer months. Additionally, Thinsulate™ 75 helps retain cool air inside in the summer — exactly where you want your air conditioning to be!
.

Thinsulate™ 75 vs. New Low-E Windows

If you are considering replacing your existing windows with Low-E windows, consider the installation of 3M Thinsulate™ Window Film before you buy Low-E windows.

3M Thinsulate™ 75 Window Film can be applied to the inside of your existing windows, increasing the performance of a single pane window to nearly that of a double pane and a double pane to nearly triple pane. This is achieved at a fraction of the cost of new Low-E windows. There is no disruption and time required to replace your existing windows. In addition, there is no need to discard your existing windows into a landfill!
